At The Restless, Sustainability is very important to us! When we buy our wholesale products, supplies, or packaging, we make sure that each business and product we support fits at least two of the following criteria: 

- Sustainably or locally sourced products

- Uses Eco-friendly natural materials

- Biodegradable, recyclable, or reusable

- Ethical, inclusive, and transparent values 

Because transparency is super important to us, we are constantly looking for ways to make a difference! If you scroll, you'll see that we've broken down who we shop with, the materials we purchase, and our creative process so that you can all hold us accountable.

BRANDS

Here are some of the brands and wholesale suppliers we support!

Comfort Colors: The number one thing we love about Comfort Colors is that they make their own products from start to finish! This means they source their own cotton, dye their own fabric, and sew products themselves. They also make sizing very inclusive and easily attainable!

LA Vintage and Thrift Vintage Fashion: These brands are where we buy the majority of our denim products! As they are both based out of LA, we appreciate garments sourced in the United States. Most importantly, we love that they thrift all of their vintage denim, making it unique and reusable! 

Faire Wholesale: Faire lets us shop with smaller, local wholesale brands for unique products. When we have a specific design in mind, we typically shop here! They let us evaluate these smaller suppliers based on their eco-friendly profiles and brand values. This allows us to have variety, inclusivity, and creative freedom!

Fabric Wholesale Direct: When you purchase a tapestry with us, the fabric you buy is from Fabric Wholesale Direct! We use their 100% organic cotton fabric and dye it ourselves to further limit waste and pollution. 

BagzDepot: When it comes to sourcing our totes, BagzDepot makes it a breeze. They offer 100% organic cotton tote bags, sourced in the United States, simplifying our purchasing process.

PACKAGING

When you shop with us, your products are shipped in sustainable packaging! We use EcoEnclose for all of our packaging and branding needs. Our shipping boxes and tissue paper are made from 100% recycled materials and are easily biodegradable! The stickers you'll find inside your package originally came to us on uncoated, recycled paper rolls. We have also made the conscious decision to limit the amount of waste we use by avoiding filler, plastic coverings, or additional hangtags.

OUR PROCESS

Because screen printing can be a little messy, we've picked up certain tips and tricks along the way to ensure we aren't contributing to further waste or pollution! 

- A lot of the equipment we use to print has been thrifted or reused, including the pots we use to dye our fabric, spatulas, tongs, etc. 

- We use an inkjet printer for our everyday use rather than a laser printer! That way, we produce less waste by using the exact amount of ink needed and reducing energy consumption. 

- We always save our ink! If we have leftover mixed colors, we store them in reused Tupperware containers and scrape, scrape, scrape to make sure nothing goes to waste. 

- We recycle all of our boxes, packaging tape, and paper products!

- When it comes to using chemicals, we prioritize safety and responsibility. We ensure that they are handled in a controlled environment, providing reassurance that we are mindful of the potential impact on the environment and our health. 

Of course, not everything we do is perfect. Art and fashion are inherently messy, chaotic, and beautiful. However, we strive to be mindful about the choices we make and the planet we impact.
